Gas prices have dropped $1.50

but I am still looking at $700 - $800 per person for airfare! Are you KIDDING me? Why are these prices NOT going down? OH! MY! GOSH!! I have searched and searched and searched discount sites, airline sites, EVERYTHING I can think of!! Why are the prices still so stinking high?? And the other thing is, the flight times and layovers are STINKING AWFUL!!!!! 5,6,7 hour layovers.....not with a 2 year old!!! There are only 2 flights that have less than a 3 hour layover on the way back but those times are so weird. Uuuuuugh!!!!
DNA is supposed to be taken on Monday! Let's hope and pray they will send it out immediately. Sometimes the labs only send out groups of samples every few days and that delays being able to make plans because you don't really know when it will be processed. We were hoping to book this weekend but I think we're going to have to wait until we KNOW that the sample is on the way to the lab.
I am sooooooooooo impatient right now! It's so close I can see her but still juuuust far enough away that I can't quite touch her. I'm ready to hold her and never let her go!

I think you are wise to wait until DNA is on the way to book the tickets. You ARE so close. If you have looked at all the sites, and you see you are going to have to pay so much anyway...have you considered calling a travel agent and just SEEING what they could do for you? I have no idea, but you never know. Maybe you could get some better layover times for the same price. I personally have never used a travel agent, but I'm throwing it out there. Also, I remember on Guatadopt some people recommending some travel agent guy. When we booked out flights ( and it was crazy because we had to get from Germany to Guatemala and to the US and then back to Germany) I remember we saved about 40% when I looked at one last airline...and I had been looking everywhere, too. There could be some change in rates over the weekend as well. Also the day of the week matters...sometimes moving one day up or back can save you big bucks. When I flew home to the US this summer that happened to me, so I stayed on extra day and saved like $400. Just throwing stuff out there that you probably have already tried...but just trying to help.

CONGRATS on all this moving forward to bring home your daughter!

Blessings,

What is us with the layovers? With both kids we had a seven hour layover and it WAS NOT fun! I can't imagine it with a two year old (our kids were younger). Good luck.
