Dear Mrs. Marjorie Masterson,
I just wanted to apologize for not paying more attention in your Spanish I class in my 10th grade year of high school. I also apologize for not taking your advice to move forward with your Spanish II class my 11th grade year. You actually told me that I could go far with my spanish and I told you thanks but no thanks...I knew I'd never use it. Fast forward, GULP - 20 years - and you have me....
The proud Mom of 3 kids. One biological and 2 born in my heart in the Land of Eternal Springs! You know, Guatemala, where the PRIMARY language is none other than - SPANISH!!! The country where I should be able to communicate with the people that I have come to love and have brought into my life. The place that I have embraced fully because it's the birthplace of 2 of my children!
To quote a very very smart 7 year old angel named Robbie - Tia Kristi...Ay, ya, yiiiiiiii!!! Why didn't I listen to dear, sweet Mrs. Masterson that taught me at Lee High School?? Cause I was a know it all 15 year old who never thought she'd ever need a "2nd language" in her world!!
Well, Mrs. Masterson, it looks like I'm getting a crash course. I hope that I can pick it up quickly and use it on down the road.....now to find an online class or something that can teach this "old dog a new trick".
Sincerely -
Kristi
