What is better than crappy news?
My sweet Luke hanging out with the DONKEYS!!!!!
Our neighbor Eric loves my boys to death. So he fed the donkeys but held Luke up to get a good view. The donkey's live in a field in his backyard and they love him.
Luke finally got up the nerve to feed apples to the yearling.

Hi Kristi! It's Erica!
I don't even know how long it has been since we saw each other, but my sister just sent me the link to your blog and I wanted to check in with you! First of all, let me say that your family is beautiful. I can't believe how big Aaron is and that he is old enough to have a girlfriend :) Luke is such a handsome little boy, and it sounds like he is a happy healthy 3 year old! And then Sydney...oh my goodness she is precious. She has my birthday too! Second of all, you would not believe all of the things we have in common right now. We follow some of the same blogs (the Wheelers, Confessions of a CF husband...yes, I'm also a blog stalker from way back :) And we have both been waiting for a very long time to bring our daughter home from another country. We felt God calling us to adopt in September of 2005, started the paperwork in June of 2006, logged in in March of 2007, got a referral on August 4, 2008...and now we are waiting on approval to travel (hoping to be home by Christmas). It's been hard, but our faith has been increased 100 fold.
I've read through most of your blog over the past hour or so, and a couple of times I had to remind myself that I wasn't reading my own blog. Like when you wrote:
"I am so ready to see my kids playing together. I am ready for Sydney to stop being someone we just talk about." Wow...that is ME!! We have been talking about this adoption since my youngest was a year old and now he is 4! Sometimes I wonder if our boys think the talk of their "baby sister" is just that...talk. Do they really believe she is coming home to us one day?
Then there was this statement that I am especially dealing with right now:
"She might not even like me. But I am prepared for that possibility." Our daughter is also living with a foster mother who she is very attached to. I am expecting our transition to be very difficult.
So all this to say...I'm with you friend! But more importantly...your Heavenly Father is with you. He cares for orphans, and He cares for you!
I'm praying for you...
Erica Terry Hammond
P.S. I'll send you an invite to my blog if you want to follow our journey.
Kristi....that Luke is so darn cute! I'm always thinking of you and you're in my prayers....hang in there and before you blink you'll be home as a family of five!!
