My son has a girlfriend......
Her name is Summer. She has brown hair, green eyes and she didn't like it when his Mom took his cell phone at 8:30 last night because he'd been talking to her or texting her since the minute he got on the bus to come home. I think they met at FCA or First Priority at school this year. AJ must really like her because he's actually talking about her to me and his Dad!! Her picture is on his cell phone screensaver.....complete with the dreaded "I LOVE SUMMER" as the caption. Summer is a soccer player and I hope she kicks his butt if he gets out of line. They've been "going out" for a week now. "Going out" where? Summer is a cute little girl, uhmmmm, pre-teen, uhmmmm young lady.
Sorry Summer, I'm working on it!
OH! MY! LORD! My 8th grade, 13 year old , first born son has a GIRLFRIEND!!! I liked it better when he was more interested in baseball. Wasn't that only last year? The goo-goo eyes and constant texting is going to be the death of me. Am I really old enough for my oldest, my first born, my blue-eyed boy to have a GIRLFRIEND!!! AJ wants to "take", on my dime, said girlfriend to the Homecoming football game tomorrow night......maybe I should call her Mom?
Well, I must say that Summer has one really good thing going for her....she loves going to church and loves hanging out with her youth group. Fortunately, thank you Lord for small miracles, it's NOT our church nor is it our youth group!!! I just don't think my poor mind could handle that!!! I am not ready for this........really, I'm not!!!

Fortunately, my very-soon-to-be 13 year-old 7th grade son is still at the "ick" stage!
I hope you get news soon that Sydney is getting better.
