Update from the homefront.....

For starters, the fact that we got all this information yesterday was truly odd. Yesterday marked 8 years since I lost DH1 unexpectedly. I was with Tammy and family for a couple days since Alan is with his Momma and Daddy in South Alabama. It was nice to get away. I wish all of this info was definite and confirmed....alas it is not and I will NOT get my hopes up. I think I am smarter than this, 20 months and many gray hairs later. It does seem more hopeful than what we've received in the past. I just wanted to pass along the latest.......

SYDNEY UPDATE:
Our file was resubmitted to PGN on July 10(oddly enough it was my anniv with DH1). Well, our lawyer had resubmitted another file on July 3. He was notified today that that file had been approved and would be ready for pick up next Tuesday(it has to make it's way to the window). That would be 19 days from file resub to pick up.
Lawyer feels confident that our file will be released sometime in the next week - 10 days. Also spoke at length with our agency about trying to get "expedited". He's afraid that it will cause them to "scrutinize" it and he doesn't feel that it needs to be. Lord knows we've been in and out often enough that for heaven's sake they should have fixed anything that was an issue. So we do NOT want to call ANY undue attention to ourselves......and if that "timeframe" is good, then we would HOPEFULLY be *O*U*T* ON OUR AROUND JULY 29th. PLEEEEEEEEASE RELEASE ME, LET ME GO!!!
Lawyer says that he will look into expediting the BC and see if it's worth it. I'm not going to spend an extra $200-300 if it's only gonna buy us a couple days. I can't justify that....that's almost a MONTH of foster care!!! That cash-ola can be used MANY other ways!!! KWIM? See, my motto -- WE WAIT......and I am PRAYING SO HARD SHE'LL BE HOME BY THE END OF AUGUST/EARLY SEPTEMBER!!

MIL UPDATE:

Well, she's healing well from her brain surgery 10 days ago. She's been home since last Friday afternoon. Her doc is pleased with her nuerological recovery. He is quite unhappy about the fact that she's still not letting people "take care of her" and he told her that he's ordered her to home/bed, to be waited on hand and foot and STOP resisting it or he WILL put her back in the hospital.

Her treatment plan is this for now:
Another full medical work up for Radiation treatment on July 24
5 days p/w, 1 hour p/d for 3 weeks of radiation begins 7/28
Full medical work up for Chemo treatment on August 4
Not sure about the tx for that since it's not been worked up yet.

FIL asked Doc point blank what the prognosis is for the additional cancers that were found if they did NOT have treatments.......Doc said 3-6 months. How 'bout that for a reality check? We really have no idea what will happen after the tx begin and how she reacts to them. It's all up in the air. We also found out that Alan's dad has to have orthoscopic knee surgery on Monday.
Anywho - there's more but it's mostly "details" and I am too tired to rehash it all. Sooooo, that's where we are. Please just keep praying..........
