SURGERY WAS A SUCCESS!!!!

I am home....and I am PAIN FREE!!! HALLELUJAH!!! I mean PAIN! FREE!! Now, it may definitely have alot to do with the fact that I am still a crackhead but let me tell ya......I am a HAPPY crackhead!!! My incision area is sore but that's all.....I can handle that!!!

The surgery was supposed to start at 1:30.....they rolled me into the OR around 3:45. Surgery started around 4:30, recovery around 5:15 and a room around 6:15. My doc told my hubby and my Mom that the herniation was MASSIVE and far more severe than he anticipated. He was however, able to fix it and was quite pleases after I told him I have NO PAIN when he checked on me in recovery.

Upon waking up in recovery, and finally focusing my eyes and getting my bearings....I realized it.....I DIDN'T HURT ANYMORE!!! None!! And then I realized that I was freaking starving; cold; looped out of my mind, it was 5:30pm, some slightly pregnant nurse kept talking to me....there's no telling what convo we had but let me tell ya....if she had complained about how tired she was ONE MORE TIME...I was afraid I was going to use my good hand and smack her. I had also somehow managed to pee all over the sheet and NO ONE realized it until I got to my room.

I did end up staying in patient last night and the EVERY person I came in contact with WIGGED out about my heart rythym(I have a normally fast tachy rhythym)...I ended up in a heart monitor, those nasty compression hose and those massaging things on my legs all night and this morning. That was not fun!! In pre-op/OR it took 3 sticks to get a good IV set....after 2 they decided that I was going to get the "good one" AFTER I was OUT cold in the OR.

Sooooo, I am home, I am pain free with exception of the soreness in my back. I am so glad to be home and your P&PT have been felt.....THANK YOU!!!
