Your room is all ready,
You have clothes galore.
There is a pink teddy bear,
That sits on your floor.
The toys are all waiting,
For you to come play.
But we are told no,
Day after Day.
We pray like crazy,
For you to come home.
We just want to love you
And call you our OWN!!
The tears I have cried,
No one should endure.
All of this waiting
Makes us unsure.
We question their motives,
Their desire to help.
We question their tactics,
And all that they do.
Why can't they see
That's what your birthmother wants too!
Just remember, sweet Sydney,
as the wait goes so slow,
Your family dearly loves you,
More than you'll know.
We loved you the minute,
We gazed upon your face.
We thought you'd come home,
At a much quicker pace.
Although you aren't home yet
and there's no real end in sight
You are the last face,
I see each night.
We'll fight for you,
And stay by your side.
We pray to God,
Only HE can provide.
So when you are older,
And your story is told,
You are more precious than silver or gold.
Sydney, please remember
that right from the start
You're the baby girl
that filled the hole in my heart.
