A little update on our plan for fostering

Hi all --- thank you so much for all your comments, emails and messages of support for us as we embark on this new leg of the journey to bring Sydney home!! It has been overwhelming and touching!! We are so thankful for such good friends.

Anway, the newest developments are as follows:

1) Our agency has given us "permission" to go foster. All we have to do is tell them when we are coming. Let's pray that this happens. I will have guardianship of Sdyney and in the eyes of Guatemala, I will be her FOSTERMOM!!! How cool is that!?!?!?

2) Our date of January 18 has been moved back a bit. Our friends Tammy & Stokes are taking a short visit the weekend of the 25th. Stokes was a bit leery of us being there without him knowing exactly where we'll. Soooo, they are going to go and scope out some rentals places and we'll decide where to stay after they return on Jan 28. Hopefully, they'll have great success with this trip and we'll have an AWESOME place to stay if any of you want to come visit!!! Alan still plans on helping us get set up!! :-)

3) My employer has approved 12 weeks of FMLA leave and my boss has been so wonderful. I am so thankful that she not only understands how big this decision is, she supports me too!! Now I just have to figure out when to break the news to the faculty/staff..... ugh!!

Now we just have to spend the next 2-3 weeks getting everything in order before I go to make things easier on Alan while I'm gone. The bummer is that I will be gone for Valentines Day, potentially our anniversary/Easter which fall on the same day this year (March 23) and Luke's 3rd birthday on April 1st. Please pray that once we get down there we can see some progress on our cases and can get our kids home ASAP!!
