WHY WHY WHY???

Ok - big breath...the DNA test is only a cheek swab!! And Sydney is the only one that is being tested. WHEW!! I still hope that they will manage to get it all done in a lull while they are waiting for submission for pink. That way you don't really lose any time....so we wait for notice that we've been submitted to PGN.
Looks like Sydney will have to get ANOTHER stick....AKA DNA TEST!!! The US Embassy has implemented a second test between out of PGN and PINK to make sure that the baby has not been switched during the process. That will probably add ANOTHER week to the adoption timeline. Greeeeaaaaat! Just let her COME HOME!!!!!
On a happy note, someone got "out" after only 3 weeks..........see it is possible.

Thankfully, the DNA test is a mouth swab and not a stick. Also, this test will not require the bmom to there. It should be done before issuing pink, so it will only increase your timeline by a few days. And really.. what's a few extra days in the whole sceam of things?

I heard the same thing, Kristi! I was so nervous about Kemry getting a stick I asked our agency and even Labcorp. LOL That sounds crazy doesn't it? They all confirmed it's a mouth swab unless a more detailed DNA is required (like in cases where it doesn't match and the bmom swears the child is hers, kwim?). It still stinks even if it adds a couple of days to an already too long wait, but at least the bmom isn't involved in this last test and it can be done while waiting on bc and passports. I just wonder how they're going to present it to the families that have budgeted X amount. $500 isn't pocket change when it hasn't been budgeted, ya know?
