Whoooowee what a day!!
Lord have mercy am I tired!! Tired I tell ya!! That alarm went off at 3:50 - I swear I only got about 3 hours of sleep last night! Ok, so our flight left at 5:50am to Houston then Houston to GC. Our connection in Houston sat on the tarmac for an hour waiting for the runways to clear for departure!
We sat behind a Mom and her 2 boys who were wild most of the flight. The youngest appeared to be about 4 and was somewhat special needs. He hit, spit, screamed, punched.....you name it, he did it to the older brother for the better part of 2 hours and the Mom said nothing. It was EXHAUSTING!!
Fortunately, Luke traveled REALLY REALLY well....that is until we got on the Houston plane and he decided to hit me, scream at me and bite me. After he was uhm, uhm, uhm, well, after that was "addressed" and he threw a crying fit he promptly fell asleep for almost 1.5 hours!!! WOOOOOHOOOOO!!!! Lord knows I needed the nap after that!!!
Arrived at the airport and got on the shuttle to the hotel - met the neatest couple. They have a "His, Mine & Ours" family (18, 10, 8)!!! Now they have a 7month GuataPrincesa named Shaylee, who they are visiting for the first time. Well, 3 weeks ago a 7 day old baby literally fell into their laps!! She's a sweet little bi-racial baby named Layla and you can tell that "J&J" are head over heals!
Here's the kicker ----- we're standing there in the lobby talking while the desk folks sort out our "RESERVATION ISSUES" and we find that we have TONS and TONS in common. She's from Nashville and says "Do you listen to country music" and we say " Uh yeah"!!! She's JOHN RICH'S (from Big 'N Rich) LITTLE SISTER!!!! Her hubby is an auctioneer and they are just so nice!!! We are such dorks but isn't that just too much?? Out of all the people in the country, we are 2 floors up from them!!!!
Anyway, so we are sorting out the reserved King Room w/connecting double room fiasco (turns out that isn't the reservation they had us for) and in walks Hector, our translator. They told him to bring Sydney to us at 1:30 instead of between 4-6pm. Well, about 15 minutes later our precious girl is brought in and my heart melted all over again!!!
Syd was exhausted and overwhelmed when the fostermom left and sister girl screamed her little self to sleep in my arms. She took an hour or so nap and is back to the little sweetie that she was last time (and yes Mandie/Tammy, I have GAS DROPS)!!! She is the happiest, smileist, giggliest, raspberry blowingest, most wonderful little princesa!! My heart just swells everytime I see all my kids(even thought the older 2 are about to drive me nuts in this REGULAR SIZED room)!!! God is good ---- God is good!!!
Here are a few pics till I can post links to more, toooooo tired!!! More tomorrow......
