OUR FAVORITE COLOR IS PINK!!!

WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 19, 2008
7:15AM
NUMBER 17
OUR GIRL IS COMING HOME!!!!

Well, she still HATES the bathtub

But she seems to be doing well with pretty much everything else. I think the bath and "awatting" at folks is going to be our biggest challenge! She swings those little arms/hands quite freely. I just grab hold and say "NO MA'AM" and let go; then nanoseconds later rinse and repeat!! :-) Other than that, she's doing really well.

Alan's favorite thing is for her to turn around and go:

"Papi....Papi.......PAAAAPIIIIII!!!!!!" and take off at him!!! She throws those little arms up to him......melts our hearts.

Ok, more later. We're off to their version of WalMart to pick up supplies. We're guessing we'll be home Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.

FOREVER HAS BEGUN!!!!!

And I am just a smidge less scared than I was last night. But only a smidge. Really, I wasn't sure I was going to make it through dinner. Dang this is tough. Not as tough as it could've been but it's still stinking tough. Here's the email I finally got to send out to our families at 5:30am!
------------------------------------
Yep, internet is hit and miss. Realized we had not packed the USB cord for the camera and the disk slot on alan's computer does not work right. We forgot to put minutes on the phone until later last night and then the stores were closed. Add in that for some reason our "international plan" on our regular phone is not working outside the US!! GRRRRRRRRRR..........we're working it all out though!!! Just be patient with us!!

I tried to post this last night:

Vivi got here at 5pm. We talked a little and then went to dinner. Dinner was good but a little odd b/c of the language barrier and the fact that we didn't think ahead to get a translator for that time. Well, we did but we didn't get it confirmed. The hotel folks helped us out though! SOOOoooooo, after we ate, she came up, got her things, we prayed and they left. It was heartwrenching and, well, I'll spare you the details. It was not fun!

Things were going great - She is adjusting to both of us. Got some great shots but having som camera issues. Then Alan went to try to get a phone card....everything was closed. Daddy left and she didn't like it. She warmed up to ALan almost immediately. Me, well, it's taking some time....as is to be expected.

And so it began: When she gets stressed she pukes...... EVERYWHERE....... ALOT.......SEVERAL TIMES!! So, she's puking...on me, on her, in the hallway of the room, in the room....everywhere. She's cried herself to sleep. I figure this is what we're going to have to get used to until she settles. I think we have a nervous stomach kiddo on our hands. Hoping and praying that ends soon!!! I can't do this every time the situation changes.

I'll post more later........much love to you all!!

We will miss you Tommy.....

11/09/08 UPDATE:
I said good-bye to Tommy tonight. It was the hardest thing I have done in a LOOOONG time!! My heart just breaks for them....it's like living it all over again.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Please keep my dear, sweet friend Teresa in your thoughts and prayers. Teresa lost her husband, Tommy, tonight. It was completely unexpected and has just rocked us to the core. Tommy was only 40 and I've been friends with them for over 12 years. Teresa and Tommy have 2 children.....their daughter, "C" is almost 8 and their son, "W" is almost 5 (our Luke reminds me of their "W" when he was younger). Tommy was a well-respected accountant in our area....he was OUR accountant. He was our friend. Tommy loved his kids more than life itself and believe it or not, he was a bigger BAMA fan than me!

I am just shocked and saddened by the news. My heart aches so deeply for Teresa. So rocked by the news that it makes me almost physically ill. I just can't believe someone I've known for so long, someone that helped me through the same loss a mere 8 years ago, is being thrown into dealing with this herself. I just don't understand.
My mind and heart takes me back to the 7 years we worked together. When she and Tommy went off and got married in Hawaii. How all "us girls" arranged a reception for them a couple weeks after they got back. I remember the days she told me they were expecting and how excited she was. The phone calls to Tommy begging him to squeeze our taxes in because I had lollygagged around and not sent him our info. How he'd always laugh and say, of course you can bring them in. You know they don't take long to do.
Please just say a prayer for them today. In the coming days, they are going to be faced with things they thought they had YEARS to prepare for. Only to be forced to face them now. We love you Teresa.....I will never be more than a phone call away.
This SEC WEST CHAMPIONSHIP is for you Tom! Tell "The BEAR" we said ROLLLLLLLLLL TIDE ROLL!!! Tommy, we will miss you!!!
